What is Ecovero™?

What is the difference between Ecovero™ and Tencel™?

Ecovero™ Viscose and Tencel™ are very similar materials made by the same company. Both are a form of sustainable viscose fiber whose raw material is wood pulp. However, there are some differences between the two, such as the even lower emissions impact of Ecovero™ viscose fabrics. Both fabrics offer the same benefits and are a much better choice than traditional viscose fabrics. In addition, both materials optimize various areas of sustainability through their state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.

Special features of Ecovero™ - Sustainability

Ecovero™ viscose is vegan and significantly more sustainable than conventional viscose fabrics because it is made from certified wood with specific production conditions. Trees in forests near the Lenzing production facilities are used to produce this environmentally conscious viscose, which means that CO2 emissions associated with transport are around 50% lower. The impact on water is also lower than with the traditional production of viscose fabrics. In addition, the transparent supply chain allows tracking of the entire production cycle.

Material properties of Ecovero™ clothing

Ecovero viscose is gentle on the skin. The sustainable viscose fiber can be so soft and flowing that it resembles silk; therefore it is very smooth and gentle to the touch. The viscose fibers of the fabric have efficient moisture regulation, making it breathable and supporting the body's thermoregulation. The material can absorb four times its weight in water. Viscose fabrics are very light, airy and breathable and are therefore suitable for sustainable blouses and summer dresses. Because it is made from pulp, it is biodegradable and can be completely returned to nature in just a few months.
